Valentina A. Komolova

Designer Biography

Born in Moscow. Graduated from of V.I. Nemirovich-Danchenko School- school (HEI) at A.P. Chekhov MAAT, V. Shverubovich Studio (Stage Production Department).

In 1977, started to design costumes for the performances of Lenkom theater: Juno and Avos, Wiseman, The Gull, Optimistic Tragedy, The Mad Day or the Marriage of Figaro, Marriage, The Cherry Orchard.

Participated in more than one hundred performances in drama and music theaters of Russia, England, Canada, Israel, Japan, etc. In Moscow was engaged in stage design at Chekhov MAAT, Theater on Malaya Bronnaya, Mossovet Theater, E. Vakhtangov Theater, V. Mayakovsky Theater. Worked with the Directors M. Zakharov, A. Efros, R. Viktiuk, G. Panfilov, G. Ziskin, stage designers O. Sheynis, D. Borovsky, D. Krymov, etc. Lectures at V.I. Nemirovich-Danchenko School-studio (HEI) at A.P. Chekhov MAAT (Stage Production Department).

"Golden Mask" award winner (Canada), twice winner of "Golden Mask" award (Israel).
