Weronika Karwowska

Designer Biography

She was born in Lodz, Poland in 1980.
She is a painter, costume and set designer for theatre, movies and television. Her projects also include photography and graphic design.
The artist studied Set Design at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw and graduated with honors in 2005. She also completed post-graduate course in Culture Studies at the Institute of Literary Research in Warsaw.
In 2005 Weronika was a pre-winner of the Theatre Institute in Warsaw for costume and set design for the play „Purple Cow" with Danuta Szaflarska in Nowy Teatr, Fabryka Trzciny in Warsaw.
The artist designed set and costumes for the feature film "South by North" that had its premiere in 2007.
She cooperated with Mazowiecki Teatr Muzyczny Operetka, Teatr Polski in Warsaw and Teatr21. Weronika ran also art and theatre workshops for mentally disabled youth in the Special Education Centre in Pruszkow. She runs also history of art project for children in Montessori primary school in Warsaw.
Between 2000-2014 Weronika took part in 6 group exhibitions and had 10 solo exhibitions.
She has four children.
